water water everywhere

My work is generally interesting and enjoyable, but, fortunately, for the most part, it doesn’t come home with me. However, it has changed how I look at the world. I see things related to water supply that I never used to notice.

On vacation recently some of my relatives mentioned that during a past visit they had gone on a tour of some Water Board facility. The guide had mentioned it takes 25 years for the water to make it from the rain clouds to someone’s tap. I thought of that when I saw the mountains reaching up into the clouds and the big tank. Yep, there’s the water cycle.

I didn’t make it by that particular tank, but out on a walk one day I did come across another and a pump station.

And all set up with a hook-up for emergency pumping.
