Due, I guessing, to the short growing season and low temperatures, none of the plants in Iceland seem to get too big/tall or showy, but walking around the area by the host parents’ summer-house and being able to look more closely I saw lots of low growing colorful flowers. It was also – especially coming from the “golden” hills of California – quite green. I’m not sure what are native and what might be naturalized, but I enjoyed them all. Something about the subtleness of it was really lovely – encouraging a slower pace and looking more carefully.
