I’ve probably mentioned how I get lost in the dictionary – on my way to look up one word and there’s so many in there I inevitably get sidetracked by something else or even within the one I really went there for there might be alternate meanings or usages or oh yummy the origin and related words. Now I sometimes find myself in a similar experience with the type. Very aware, even distracted by the shape, the sculptural quality of a particular letter and ooo look at that curve or where the crossbar sits or somesuch. And that someone designed all that, and made them, and wow. just. wow. Aside from any meaning, some of them are almost painfully beautiful. You know those ones that you look at and even before you touch them or pick them up you feel it in your body.
