My friends didn’t tell me that Winthrop is all done up in Old West style, which was pretty cool, since then it was a total kooky surprise. I didn’t actually go in to town and see it until after my ride at Buck Lake. At first I was wondering if maybe I was having a low blood sugar hallucination, but it was still all Old West even after some ice cream. I imagine the idea was as a tourist draw, apparently there’s also a Bavarian village in Leavenworth, WA.
