Breffast and back on the road. Down the hill and to the left on the 210 and then eventually to the I-10 eastbound. I don’t know why it always surprises me that there’s big ass mountains in Southern California.
The navigation was actually pretty straightforward, and traffic generally wasn’t a problem. Although appropriate lane/speed selection issues are apparently not unique to Northern California.
Oh hey, I’ve been this way. Yeah, that’s right. My x and I came down to Palm Springs one time to get some warm weather during the winter. When the heck was that? Oh, does it really matter?
And double what the heck, well it’s not the exact same trip, but through the same area, and last year I went to Portland, where we’d also been together… what is up with that?! Lack of imagination to go new places, or knowing that I liked them from having been before, or wanting to revisit them on my own, remember that we did have good times together but reclaim places and traveling on my own in my new life? Ugh. Too much thinking. Just enjoy the view.

Oh looky! Saguaro!!! I was expecting them to all be the single trunk two arms, but apparently that’s the cartoon version. They come in all kinds of crazy combinations of arms.
It is beautiful. Again big poufy dramatic clouds and expanses. Karma to Burn on the stereo goes well with the desert. Random things going by on the interstate. Oh look, the exit for Mecca! Stops for jerky, gas, stretching my legs. A green field? Orchards? Final destination for the day was Tucson, so I actually bypassed Phoenix. Enjoyed a taiko concert and yummy dinner.

Didn’t get any good shots of the windmills, but did get this train full of what I’m guessing are parts for the windmills.
