Hot Shop. Not Hot Box. Hot Shop. The working studio display area of the Museum of Glass. The space has a quasi-futuristic game show set sorta feel, complete with announcer describing what is happening in the work area. There’s a seating area, and you can also walk all the way around the work floor, although you are a level above it.
It was pretty warm from the heat of the kilns or ovens or whatever they are called, but I was a bit surprised to see everyone working in shorts and t-shirts around all the hot equipment and material. People were working on individual pieces, there was also one I saw part of where several people were involved. Fascinating.
