seems to be much more prevalent in Hawaii for some reason. The most famous (or infamous?) is SPAM, of course, which I have had, before it became the ironic/iconic item that it is today. But I don’t have any particular memories of it being a Thing.
I do remember the Vienna Sausage though. That was definitely part of the visits to Grandma. A bit of a treat in a way since we didn’t have them at home.
In a misplaced fit of nostalgia here on the mainland I did get some once. Maybe they use a different formulation or something has changed over the years, but it wasn’t quite the same.
